I am artist based in the North East of England. I was born and brought up on Tyneside and studied Fine Art at Wimbledon and Chelsea Colleges of Art. I have lived and worked in London, Brighton, Manchester and Northumberland before I moved to Durham in 1990.

My work deals with factors which change landscapes and habitats and takes the form of drawings, objects and books. I like to work with particular locations or museum collections, installing pieces which draw upon obscure information and forgotten histories.

Drawing is a major part of my practice. I use natural and found substances as materials – pulverised rock, sludge and dust, the results of rusting and burning, ephemera. I work on paper and metal, I reform rusted objects to give them new life and I recycle books to infuse them with new meaning.
